I had a lot of fun doing this last time so I figured I would revisit it and make it a “series” on this blog. Posts like these really help to cut the books you have no interest in reading off your Goodreads.

I originally saw these posts on Sara’s blog.
Let’s revisit the rules
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
May the odds be ever in their favor
*Like in the last down the tbr hole post these books are in no particular order*
10 books enter, how many will come out alive? Read below to find out.
Reminder: The score so far is Keep 6 Toss 4
The curse of the black cat by Lou Wilham.
Keep! This book sounds right up my alley. It’s about a prince who is about to turn 18 and has to pick a wife. The only thing is, there’s no “magic” when he kisses a female. The Prince has to decide if he wants to hide in the shadows with a wife he’s not into or embrace his sexuality and find a partner he actually wants to be with.
*I read this book yesterday. It was cute, fluffy, entertaining, it would definitely make a good book to read if you’re having a bad mental health day. I highly recommend it!*
All the stars and teeth by Adalyn Grace.
Mermaids, pirates, magic! I’m in! Keep!
Monsters Vol 1 :Awakening by Marjorie M. Liu.
Hmmmm, trauma of war, mysterious physic link and steam punk……. This sounds like it could be incredibly bad, BUT if it’s good it could be REALLY good… I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Keep!
Heartstopper Vol: 1 by Alice Oseman.
Keep! One thousand times keep. It sounds incredibly adorable. Boy meets boy, they become friends maybe more? Who knows, we shall see ;-).
The Martian by Andy Weir.
I saw the movie for this after It got out of theaters. it wasn’t a bad movie but I feel like it could be a long winded book. It’s going to be a toss.
Revisit this old post for more fun – Reasons to love reading
The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher.
Keep! I loved the original Star Wars, the special effects still hold up today which is saying something since it was made in the 70s. This book is said to be funny, open, maybe a tad scandalous. Either way I’m in!
This is me. Loving the person you are today by Chrissy Metz.
This sounds like a very inspiring read. It’s a keep!
The room on Rue Amelie by Kristin Hamel.
This is a WW2 historical fiction. This genre has been very hit or miss for me. It does sound good though. I will give it a chance. It’s a Keep.
Pokémon Adventures, vol 15 Ruby and Sapphire by Hidenori Kusaka
This one is a toss. I finished Pokémon Adventures vol 3: Red and Blue today and it was not easy. I love, love, love the anime. The mangas are very different from the anime, not that different is bad. Just in this case it wasn’t for me.
Pokémon Adventures, vol 16 Ruby and Sapphire by Hidenori Kusaka
Toss. If I’m not reading vol 15 then I am not going to read vol 16. They just aren’t for me.
New talley totals are:
Have you read any of these books? Is there any books I kept that you would toss? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below.
