15 Fierce Females in Literature

It always makes a book more interesting when you have fierce female characters. Whether they be main characters or side characters. The age of “damsels in distress” is hopefully changing.

So who are these femme fatals?

  • They don’t play the victim card
  • They stand up for what they believe in
  • Their not afraid to take on challenges
  • They think outside the box
  • Their not looking for others to solve their problems

Who are these fierce females?

  1. I especially love Anne Shirley but I’ll have to check out some of the ones I don’t know! Thanks for sharing this.

    1. Thanks! I could have made it longer but I was trying not to pick more than 1 character per book series

  2. Really awesome list – Johanna from hunger games is an amazing one. I love Tessa Gray from the Shadowhunter world

  3. Loving this list but also hating that I haven’t actually read any of these yet? Wow what am I doing?…

  4. I’ll have to check out some of these books you mentioned because I love a fierce female character and don’t read enough of them!

I love Celaena and Nehemia from the Throne of Glass series

    1. Me too! Also Tonks and Professor Mcgonagall. I didn’t want to put multiple characters from the same book/series though.
